Film Sequences

Film Sequences

My first clip I have chosen is from a film I watched recently called Kidulthood. I have chosen this clip because I like the shots the director has used. It is relevant to my sequence I am filming because the actor in the film is raging which is what the actor in my film is doing.
There are many things I like about this sequence. One of the things I like that the director has done is use camera movement very well. He has not just kept the camera still he moves it from side to side creating slight motion blur. I think by doing this it enhances the emotion of the sequence and also makes the viewer feel like a part of it.
In between this there is also flash backs of previous scenes showing what a rough time this person has been through. I think this is good because it makes you feel for the person and also reminds you that he is the good guy still.

My second sequence is a chase scene from the movie Salt. Although my sequence isn't having a chase scene in it therfore the clip doesn't have much relevance to mine, it still shows a nice variation of shots. I also like the snappiness of the shots and how quick it changes from shot too shot and by putting intense music over the top it really gets your adrenalin going as all chase scenes should.

My third sequence I have chosen is the end scene of Blade Runner. I have chosen this simply to show how effective close ups are when used well. Blade Runner proves this so well with the close ups on the eyes, mouth and hands and by switching between these diffrent shots it makes it a a great deal  more interesting,  rather then just having the very boring, very ordinary,  waste to head high shot.
